According to the residents, BJP leader Kamala
Prasad Yadav had cleaned the area at the junction to facilitate free movement of pedestrians.
"However, taking advantage of the cleaned up area, heavy vehicles, trucks and cars are parked all along the stretch, forcing the pedestrians to walk on the road," said a resident.
This is an important junction connecting the busy four-lane highway from Verna to the airport with a flow of heavy vehicles. The junction also connects the highway to Bogmalo beach.
It may be recalled that in the recent past, two youths had lost their lives after their two-wheeler collided against a stationary tempo along the highway.
Speaking to the media, Chicalim Sarpanch Seby Pereira said the idea and plan of having footpaths on both sides of the road is in the pipeline and he will immediately get rid of all the vehicles parked along the junction causing danger to human life.
He also requested the pedestrians to observe safety while crossing the road till the footpaths are constructed in the area.
