The Bombay High Court at Goa has dismissed a review petition filed by former Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar in the Serula comunidade land grab case.
Parulekar had appealed against an order also passed by the High Court directing him to face trial in the case of illegally occupying comunidade land.
Justice Bhadang on June 22nd directed Dilip Parulekar and the other two accused Peter Martins, then attorney of Comunidade of Serula and Irene Sequeira, then Administrator of Comunidade of Bardez to face trial for offences under sections 119, 120, 420 read with 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. The trial of the trio has commenced before Mapusa JMFC Shantashree Kudchadkar with the next hearing scheduled for January 19th.

The Bombay High Court at Goa on Tuesday rejected a request from the State government seeking more time to file its response to a petition seeking directions to the State Government to have Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar examined by an independent panel of doctors and the report made public.
While the government maintained that the petition was not maintainable, the High Court asked the government to file a response by Friday of last week. However, when the case came up for hearing on Tuesday, the government sought more time until Friday which was declined and asked the State government to file its reply by Wednesday (today) and the next hearing has been kept for Thursday.
D’Mello in his petition has claimed that “Parrikar, despite being physically incapacitated, bedridden in intensive care unit has breached constitutional trust to remain as Chief Minister and mentally incapable of discharging his constitutional obligations.”
