HCWs get assurance of job regularisation

MARGAO
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday rang in good news for the healthcare workers, including contract nurses and multi-tasking staff promising to regularize their services at the time of recruitment.

The Health Minister was in Salcete to honour the healthcare workers attached to the Navelim and Chinchinim Primary Health Centres on Monday, wherein he laid stress on vaccination to tackle the third Covid wave.

While addressing the health care workers at the Navelim PHC in the presence of local MLA Luizinho Faleiro, Health Director Dr Jose D’Sa and others, Rane said the government will not forget the hard work put in by the healthcare workers, right from the doctors to the paramedics, nurses and the MTS workers.

“The contract nurses and MTS who had put in yeoman services will be regularized by the government at the time of recruitment. We cannot forget the services rendered by the healthcare workers during the pandemic,” he added.

The Health Minister laid stress on the ongoing vaccination exercise, saying only mass vaccination will save the people from the third wave. In this respect, he requested the doctors to change the protocol and go for vaccination at places suggested by the concerned ministers and MLAs to get more and more people vaccinated on priority.

He assured the Navelim MLA that the government has granted approval for a hospital at the Navelim PHC.

At the Chinchinim PHC, the Health Minister paid his tributes to the healthcare workers for working in adverse conditions to meet the situation.

He said mortality rate would have been much lower had people reported to hospitals on time. The HM reminded that Goa is only state which provided free Covid treatment.
