The Bombay High Court at Goa has taken up a petition filed by an NGO People for Animals who alleged that the continued holding of bullfights in Goa in violation of the High Court at Goa amounted to contempt of Court.
Arguing for People for Animals, Adv Norma Alvares argued based on certain news articles published in the press and on social media that "bullfights are taking place in the teeth of the judgement" of the High Court.
In reply, the Advocate General sought an adjournment to "ascertain the facts" and to place on record his reply.
The matter has now been posted to September 17.
