MARGAO:
In fact, Hospicio authorities pointed out that the top two floors of the building are lying vacant ever since the PWD had declared these floors unsafe. The ground floor of the building, however, is presently housing the casualty, while the female medicine is located on the first floor of the building.
Authorities pointed out that the repairs to the building is firmly ruled out since the time the top two floors were declared unsafe. “There’s no question of carrying out repairs to the building since the building’s top two floors have been declared unsafe,” informed Hospicio Medical Superintendent Dr Aira Almeida.
She told the Goan that the dialysis centre is located on one of the floors of the unsafe building, adding that the in-charge of the dialysis centre has been issued notices by the Hospicio hospital to vacate the premises at the earliest. However, with no early sign of the commissioning of the district hospital under construction at Ambaji near the new Collectorate building, sources said the female medicine ward and the casualty continues to be housed in the unsafe building.
