A major fire at a house at Colva destroyed property worth over Rs 2 lakh.
The incident occurred around noon when the fire is believed to have originated at the air conditioner, before it spread to the room, destroying household items.
Fire Officer Gill D’Sa informed that fire destroyed the air conditioner, two cupboards, a bed and mattress, chairs, clothes, walls and doors of the room. To a question, Gill said that the fire might have occurred at the AC unit due to a suspected short circuit or because of voltage issue.
