VASCO:
Vasco police have booked a resident of Mangor Hill in Vasco on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl, leading to her pregnancy.
Vasco police registered an offence under Section 64 of the BNS and Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on a complaint on Thursday morning.
The complaint stated that in May, the accused, Mohammed Jinu befriended a minor girl and is alleged to have sexually abused the girl, leading to her pregnancy.
The investigation is currently being handled by Vasco PSI Archana Gaonkar under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
