The Covid graph of Goa experienced yet another spike with the Health Department recording 392 new Covid-19 cases and nine deaths on Tuesday.
The total number of Covid-related deaths now stand at 157 while the active cases are 3,149. At present, 188 asymptomatic Covid positive persons are under home isolation.
With the addition of 315 recoveries on Tuesday, the total number of recoveries has touched 11,224.
Till date, 14,530 persons have tested positive for the infection in Goa.
Among the deceased persons is a 52 year-old man from Dharbandora, a 49 year-old woman from Mangor Hill in Vasco, a 52 year-old man from Pernem, all admitted at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim with comorbid conditions passed away on Monday. A 70 year-old man from Pernem admitted at GMC with comorbid conditions lost his battle with the infection on Tuesday. A 73 year-old man from Merces admitted at GMC passed away on Tuesday and a 73 year-old man from Borim, a 64 year-old man from Chandor, a 50 year-old man from Mangor Hill in Vasco admitted at ESI Covid Hospital with co-morbidities passed away on Monday. A 72 year-old man from Malbhat, Margao admitted at ESI Covid Hospital with co-morbid conditions lost his life on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Covid raised its head at the office of South Goa Educational zone, Margao, prompting the management to shut down the office for two days.
The South zone education office housed at the Old market was closed on Tuesday and will also remain shut on Wednesday as well.
