“The BJP-MGP are currently in an alliance and will continue to be together for the elections and next elections will be of our government only,” Parsekar announced.
The Chief Minister was asked to react to the threat posed by the BBSM which has announced that it will support the MGP in the event they do not align with the BJP and if they do, that they will float their own party and rout the BJP candidates.
“In politics we don’t underestimate anyone, not even Kejriwal. 20 years ago we were also small. We didn’t grow overnight,” Parsekar said.
When it was pointed that the BBSM had the backing of the RSS, Parsekar said that it would be individual RSS leaders and not the organisation.
“There are many RSS volunteers in Goa. You need to find out the percentage that has gone for the BBSM meetings and even among those who have gone, you need to find out how many will continue to be with them if they float a new party,” Parsekar said adding that he was an RSS member but wasn’t with the BBSM.
Parsekar was recently in Delhi and said that while the meeting was about the strengthening of the party the Goa elections were discussed.
“We are a political party so definitely there was a discussion on the polls. But it was not for Goa alone,” Parsekar said denying that the impact of AAP in Goa was discussed in the State.
Meanwhile, speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in Margao on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said “MGP is my alliance partner. As far as I am concerned, I am comfortable with them.”
Parsekar also expressed confidence of a victory for the BJP-MGP alliance at the hustings. “Even for the next election, we will be together. I am confident that the next term will also be ruled by BJP-MGP alliance. That, I am confident,” the CM added.
