Speaking at a meeting organized by the Congress minority cell at Cuncolim, Faleiro also made it clear to the workers and people that when the party election manifesto is prepared, it will be prepared right here in Goa.
“Today, the Goa of Parashuram, St Francis Xavier and the great men of this golden Goa has been made the vice capital of the country,” he said, while calling upon the people to protect the state and its identity.
He pointed out that Congress had made mistakes in the past and the people of Goa made them to sit in the opposition. “The time has come to understand the mistakes and go back to the people. If some people think that tourism in Goa is dependent on casinos, drugs and prostitution, let us have an opinion poll,” he said.
Making a fervent plea to the people to protect and preserve Goa, Faleiro said it is the sacred duty of every Goan to protect the land of their ancestors and give it to the new generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the All India Congress minority front, Kurshid Ahmed, warned the minority to remain alert, saying that efforts are underway to divide their votes to benefit the BJP.
