BICHOLIM
A hut was gutted in a fire at Karapur while two houses were damaged when trees came crashing down as rainstorms struck several parts of Bicholim taluka.
The power supply was cut off in many affected areas of the taluka and the emergency services like the Bicholim fire services and electricity department staff were at work to clear, repair and restore services and property.
The Bicholim Disaster Management team headed by Deputy Collector Deepak Vaigankar and the Mamlatdar has appealed to people to be alert as rains may continue for another three days.
