Security and policing at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022 will be closely monitored by the Director General of Goa Police Jaspal Singh as the force gears up to handle security arrangements for one of the events of G-20 Summit, 2023 in Goa.
DGP Singh along with Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh and DIG Law and Order reviewed the arrangements for the inaugural ceremony of the festival, slated to begin on Sunday.
“Being an international event wherein a large number of invitees from different parts of the world will arrive in the State, Goa Police should showcase its professionalism in managing international events more particularly because many G-20 functions are to be held in Goa in 2023,” Singh said while briefing his staff at the venue, on Saturday.
While asking officers to be courteous, they were also directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements with particular respect to Access Control, anti-sabotage checks and identification of genuine invitees so that no unauthorized person can enter the venue.
“Some people might try to use the same passes to smuggle people inside which might cause scarcity of seats for bonafide invitees. The Officers should request the organizers to make arrangements for the spillover invitees,” he further said.
The security Unit staff was further directed to ensure that special invitees are not pestered for photo clicks by the people and prevent mobbing of such invitees.
