Cuncolim-based Raj Rauji Desai has been conferred with the Doctorate of Philosophy and awarded the prestigious “Excellence in PhD Research” award by Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, at the 59th Convocation held on Saturday.
His dissertation was advised by eminent professors, Prof Anirban Guha and Prof P Seshu, Director, IIT Dharwad.
The dissertation titled “Biodynamic Response of a Human Body Model Integrated with Vehicle Model” deals with a practical real-time problem of the human body subjected to vehicle induced vibrations.
During his PhD, he had published in numerous high impact journals and presented his research work at various international conferences in Canada, USA, Poland, Italy, Romania and Argentina. Two of his conference papers were awarded with Best Paper awards.
Many researchers in the world have also cited his research work. Also, during his Masters, he topped the class and was awarded the “best thesis award” for his research work in the field of Robotics. His research work enabled him to achieve the distinguished European Union scholarship to continue his postdoctoral research work at the world’s renowned university TU Delft.
He is also the recipient of the MHRD Teaching Assistant fellowship and the prestigious Goa scholar award. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Mechanical engineering IIT Bombay.
