SANGUEM
The meeting scheduled by Sanguem MLA and Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Phaldessai at Sanguem on Sunday morning to discuss the proposed IIT project at Cotarli-Sanguem is likely to be fiery, with both opposition and those favouring the project expected to attend the meeting in large numbers.
Before the public meeting convened to discuss the proposed project, Phaldessai convened another meeting of his supporters and other party leaders to discuss the issue.
While BJP supporters will be determined to rally behind the MLA, the farming community is also expected to attend the meeting and expect a positive reply from the leader.
While supporters of Phaldessai are expected to outnumber the farmers who are opposed to the IIT project, the farmers are determined to agitate if the leaders fail to hear their grievances.
Incidentally, a local social group under the name of ‘We For Sanguem’ has been filled with messages of support, in response to a message by Phaldessai urging the people from Sanguem to support the IIT project which has been part of his election manifesto.
