By that time the dhirio lovers, who had a ball of a time, had already dispersed and the police team led by PI C L Patil only took a round of the bandh to find out whether the fighter buffaloes were still around.The police could not find both the buffaloes and the organisers. Left with no option, they attached a bucket and the nylon rope allegedly used by the organsiers during the bullfight. “The police in the robot vehicle could not do anything as they were outnumbered. You cannot expect a handful of policemen to stop the bullfight,” PI Patil said.Later in the evening, PI Patil told the media that the police have attached an open rickshaw which was allegedly used to transport a buffalo. “The police is also registering a case against the organisers and the owners of the fighter buffaloes,” he said.Incidentally, today s bullfight took place at the same venue where police personnel were confronted by dhirio lovers around a year ago.
