IndiGo Airlines cancels multiple Goa flights amid nationwide disruption

PANAJI: IndiGo Airlines has cancelled several flights to and from Goa over the past two days, as part of a nationwide disruption affecting over 200 flights across India. The airline has cited multiple factors behind the crisis, including technology glitches, winter schedule adjustments, adverse weather conditions, increased air traffic congestion, and new crew duty rules.

The stricter flight duty time limits, effective November 1, require pilots to have 48 hours of rest per week (up from 36) and restrict night-time landings to two per week (down from six). The Federation of Indian Pilots said IndiGo struggled to make timely roster adjustments and plan schedules under the new rules.

The crisis has prompted urgent meetings with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). To contain the disruption, IndiGo said it has implemented schedule adjustments over the next 48 hours and is offering affected passengers alternate travel arrangements or refunds.

Dabolim Airport took to 'X' to announce multiple flight delays and cancellations. Flights have been cancelled to Mumbai (6E297, 6E5143, 6E205), Hyderabad (6E744), Kolkata (6E162), and Surat (6E418). Delays have been reported for flights to Delhi (6E6768, 6E2091, 6E6193, 6E2029, 6E6824), Mumbai (6E648, 6E5231, 6E5108), Bengaluru (6E633, 6E6298, 6E6163), Hyderabad (6E712, 6E374), Bhopal (6E366), Ahmedabad (6E381), Lucknow (6E6811), and Chennai (6E589).

Additionally, one flight, 6E104, from Manohar International Airport at Mopa to Vadodara, has also been cancelled.
