Intellectually challenged girl reunited with family

An intellectually challenged girl who was found creating a disturbance in Cortalim on Wednesday late evening was safely reunited with her family following swift action by Verna Police. According to police, information was received at the Verna Police Station about a female behaving erratically in the Cortalim area.

A police team was immediately sent to the spot, and upon verification, it was found that the girl was unable to communicate any details about her identity or residence. She was brought to the police station, where officers began efforts to trace her background. Through sustained enquiry and local inputs, police were able to establish that the girl hailed from North Goa and had been missing since the afternoon.

After continuous follow-up and coordination, the police succeeded in tracing her family members and establishing contact with them. The girl was subsequently handed over to her parents, bringing relief to the family. Residents and locals have appreciated the prompt and sensitive response of the Verna Police.
