That none of the authorities have taken cognizance of the state of affairs of Lohia Chowk is evident from the fact that crumbling marble plates have neither been replaced nor repaired till date. When The Goan contacted Assolna Sarpanch Pedrina Cardozo to shed light on the maintenance of the chowk, she was quick to point fingers at the district administration for its upkeep and maintenance. “The panchayat has no role to play in the maintenance of the Lohia Chowk.
