Jaipur Foot camp begins at Margao

MARGAO: A four-day free Jaipur Foot camp began at Karwarker hall, near Dr Rajendra Prasad stadium in Margao on Friday. It was inaugurated by South Goa MP Narendra Sawaiker.

The camp is organised by the Kamani Foundation, Rajkot & Zuri Hotels & Resorts in association with Shree Gajanan Maharaj Trust, Goa and Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti. Sawaiker informed that this is the third such camp in Goa. He called on the handicapped to take advantage of such camps.

Dr Pravin Parikh said the organisers have brought enough equipment for 500 handicapped persons while the registration for the camp is only 200.

Pravin Bhandari informed that 60,000 fitments in 50 camps have been fitted every year for the handicapped.

Adesh Karwarker of Krishna Karwarker Trust also spoke.

Earlier, the president of Shree Gajanan Maharaj Trust, GS Keny welcomed while general manager of Zuri Hotels & Resorts, Goa, Rajendra Menon proposed the vote of thanks. Pandurang Naik compered the function.

The camp will continue till November 23, from 10 am to 5 pm at the venue.
