Hundreds of jobless Drishti lifeguards gathered at Azad Maidan once again to demand that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant keep his promise to resume their service with some job security.
The Drishti lifeguards who have been jobless for the last one year had halted their agitation after Sawant held a meeting with the leaders of the agitating lifeguards and assured some solution to their problem.
"During the meeting, CM assured us that either the lifeguards will be accommodated in human resource development corporation or negotiations with Drishti managers will be done so that the company hires these lifeguards back again," said Swati Kerkar leader of these lifeguards adding that the CM has still not done anything in the direction.
The lifeguards have given 15 days' time to the CM to fulfill their demand.
"This was not an agitation but through this gathering, we want to remind the Chief Minister that he has to work out some solution on the issue," said Ajitsingh Rane another leader of lifeguards, adding that Sawant had relayed a message through officers that he would hear their grievances once he resumes office.
