The Joint Mamlatdar of Sanguem Nathan Afonso has been suspended with immediate effect pending enquiry into his role in a forgery case involving government property.
Government of Goa Directorate of Vigilance, in an order dated December 15, declared that a disciplinary proceeding against Afonso is under contemplation.
Afonso has been ordered to report to the Department of Personnel during his period of suspension.
The order has been signed by Sanjeev C Gauns Dessai, Director (Vigilance) and ex-officio additional secretary.
