A judge, a public prosecutor and a couple of staff members of the South Goa Sessions Court are reported to have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The court building has been sanitized. There’s, however, no stopping to the functioning of the courts in the District and Sessions Court building.
Meanwhile, in another development, the Registrar (Inspection-I) of the Bombay High Court has in a communique to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, South Goa stated that the Administrative Judges Committee has resolved that till the end of September, 2021, the district Court and the sub-ordinate courts in the South Goa district shall not take more than 25 matters in each session.
The communique further stated that the Committee has further resolved that no adverse orders nay be passed in the absence of advocates and parties not appearing when their mater is called on for consideration. Disposal norms for the judicial officers of such courts are exempted during this period, the communique stated.
