Kalay Sarpanch Kishor Rama Gauns Dessai was on Tuesday ousted in a no-confidence motion.
Four of the seven panchayat members, Bablo Kharat, Bapu Xelke, Shradha Borkar and Jimi Rekdo, had filed a no-confidence motion against the sarpanch last week, after accusing him of failing to take panchayat members into confidence in matters on development of the village.
At a special meeting in the panchayat office on Tuesday, the four panchas voted in favour of the no-confidence motion, while three panchayat members, Viraj Dessai, Suraj Naik and Sarpanch Kishor Rama Gauns Dessai remained absent for the meeting.
The special meeting was conducted by Returning Officer Luis D'Silva in the presence of Panchayat Secretary Dinkar Kossambe.
