MARGAO:
After visiting the hospital accompanied by Margao Municipal councillors Doris Texeira, Manoj Masurkar and former councillor Damu Shirodkar on Saturday, Digambar said the entire Hospicio building may come down anytime taking into account the condition of the columns, gallery and the roof.
“I understand that there’s hardly any scope for improvement or medication of the Hospicio building in question. That’s the reason why my government had initiated the ambitious district hospital project. The project is yet to see the light of day though the agency has whitewashed the building,” he said.
He promised to speak to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to explore the possibility of demolishing the building in question to avoid any tragedy.
