MARGAO
Margao Municipal Chairperson Lyndon Pereira is racing against time to install CCTV surveillance cameras in the Municipal building to bring the officials and employees under scanner.
It’s now official that while the CCTV cameras will bring all Municipal sections under the CCTV scanner, the chamber of the Municipal Chairperson will not be brought under the purview of the Big Brother.
That’s not all. Though the officials, staff and employees all come under the administrative head of the Council, i.e. the Chief Officer, the Municipal Chairperson will monitor the movements of the employees.
Chairperson Lyndon is apparently rushing with the CCTV project in the MMC building to ensure that the same is commissioned before May 27 when he is expected to complete one year in office.
He informed that the CCTV project costing around Rs 2.5 lakh will help maintain a close look on the employees given complaints that the staff are not found seated in their sections during office hours.
When questioned whether the chamber of the Chairperson will be brought under the CCTV scanner, Lyndon parried the question, pointing out that the CCTV project is a project aimed to bring the administration under the scanner.
