With the induction of sarpanch of Aldona and deputy sarpanch of Bastora in the party, the TMC campaign has got a shot in the arm in Aldona constituency.
Both Aldona sarpanch Pranesh Naik and Bastora deputy sarpanch, Rajesh Pilarnkar, who were earlier with the BJP, along with their supporters joined the TMC.
State TMC President, Kiran Kandolkar, who is contesting from Aldona, said that some more leaders from the BJP were likely to join the TMC in next two days.
“People of Aldona want a change. They want to see the back of BJP. With the induction of Aldona sarpanch and Bastora deputy sarpanch TMC has become stronger in the constituency,” Kandolkar said.
He said the local MLA has failed to carry out both infra and human development in the constituency.
“For last 10 years the BJP MLA has been running the show in Aldona. Neither any big projects have been brought in the constituency nor the youth have been provided with jobs,” he said.
He further said that only goondagiri and dadagiri has increased in Aldona.
“There was an attack on Aldona sarpanch and the MLA did not even condemn the incident,” he said.
Mapusa Councilor Tarak Arolkar who recently joined the TMC and is contesting as a candidate of Mapusa is also expected to boost TMC’s prospects in Aldona.
Tarak Arolkar and his brother Vikas Arolkar are councillors of two Mapusa wards which come in Aldona constituency in the assembly elections.
Previous assembly election trend shows that BJP was getting maximum lead in these two wards.
