A fresh plea has been filed in the Supreme Court by Advocate ML Sharma seeking an investigation after The New York Times in its latest report said that the Narendra Modi-led government had purchased the Pegasus spyware from Israel in 2017. In his plea, Advocate Sharma has sought directions from the court to register a first information report for prosecuting the “concerned persons” and to investigate & recover the public money paid as part of the alleged deal.Multiple petitions were filed in the Supreme Court seeking an investigation into the matter. The Supreme Court had then appointed an expert committee to inquire, investigate and determine whether the Pegasus spyware was used on Indian citizens.
Well, if a similar type of report had come out during the rule of erstwhile former UPA regime then the BJP leaders would have taken out huge rallies creating 'humgama' everywhere and would have demanded for the immediate dismissal of the same government. Now, why are the BJP leaders quiet and not telling their own media-created supreme leader to resign over this latest New York Times report on Pegasus?
