The Adv Ramakant Khalap Amrut Mahotsav Felicitation Committee will felicitate the former union minister on the occasion of his 75th birthday, at a programme in the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji, on August 5 at 4 pm.Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Wednesday, chairman of the felicitation committee Dashrath Parab said Khalap will be completing 75 years on August 5, due to which his friends and well-wishers got together and decided to felicitate him.
“We wanted to felicitate him last year but due to unavoidable circumstances could not do so. So, we are felicitating him this year. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be the chief guest for the function along with former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu,” Parab said.
Parab recalled the contribution of Khalap towards the political, social, educational, literature and cultural fields in the State. A book titled 'Bhai' will also be released on the occasion.
Gurudas Natekar, Chitra Shivsagar, Rajmohan Shetye and others were present.
