Konkani song singing contest
PANAJI: The Goa Cultural and Social Centre, Panaji, in association with Mil-Mel-Nel Productions, Panaji, and Clube Vasco-da-Gama, will organise an all-Goa Konkani solo singing competition 'Mhozo Tallo Aikat' at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji, on May 7, at 5 pm.
The contest will be in three categories - Juniors (12-17 years), male seniors and female seniors (18 years and above). Last date to submit entries is April 5.
Participants are free to choose any song by singers of yesteryears including C Alvares, M Dod de Verna, Kid Boxer, Star of Arrosim, Aleixinho de Candolim, Anthony Mendes, Kamat de Assolna, Bab Peter, Rico Rod, Reginald Fernandes, Baldumir Araujo, Minguel Rod, Jacinto Vaz, Robin Vaz, Chris Perry, Allen Costa, Souza Ferrao, Young Menezes Souza Giao, Domnic Vaz, Jephsis Hitler, Bernard de Aldona, Master Vaz, H Britton, M Boyer, Remmie Colaco, Tony Kar, Alfred Rose, Mohammed Rafi, Shailander Singh, Jerome, Shalini, Lorna, Antonette Mendes, Mohana, Ophelia, Platilda, Jessie, Doris, Teresa Mendes, Delfina, Rita Rose, Usha Utup, etc.
