Crime Branch informed that the matter has been adjourned yet again. However, no date has been set for the next hearing before the Supreme Court . Special Court for Prevention of Corruption on August 19, 2015 had granted Kamat anticipatory bail in the Louis Berger bribery case. This was initially challenged by the Crime Branch in the Panaji bench of Bombay High Court at Goa. Supreme Court had heard the matter partly on February 24 with Assistant solicitor general of India Advocate Tushar Mehta urging the Apex court to cancel the anticipatory bail of the former Chief Minister Kamat. During the argument, Adv Mehta had mentioned nine confessional statements recorded by Crime Branch regarding the bribe money of Rs 1.20 crore allegedly paid to Kamat. Following this, Kamat s advocate Kapil Sibal had sought more time to reply. The final argument in the matter were scheduled for March 3 but has been adjourned since then.
