BICHOLIM: Hutashani (Holi) Pournima festival was celebrated at Bicholim on Wednesday night with religious fervour.
The festival was celebrated at Sonar Peth, Bhailpeth, Atil Peth and Mayem-Bicholim.
At Sonar Peth, Bicholim, the celebration was organised in the premises of Mashelkar community.
During the celebration, a tree was worshipped by a priest, followed by Aarti, public prayer and Prasad in the form of Tirth and Usal Pao.
A coconut-breaking programme was also organised as per the tradition. It is believed that when a coconut is broken, evil disappears from the house of the devotee concerned.
