Agassaim police nabbed a youth from Bagalkot-Karnataka but residing at Goa Velha on charges of burglarising a house in Bambolim.
On Tuesday, Lucy D'Souza of Bambolim had lodged a complaint that burglars had entered into her house and had stolen gold worth Rs 60,000 and cash of Rs 3,000 from the cupboard.
During investigation, police got reliable information that a teenager was seen near the complainant's house.
Agassaim PI Jivba Dalvi along with a police team nabbed the accused, Ramaiya Mudraj (19), at Merces Band and arrested him on Wednesday midnight.
During investigation, the accused confessed his involvement in the crime along with one minor boy.
Agassaim police managed to recover the stolen gold and the accused was produced before the JMFC at Panaji and was remanded to three days in police custody.
According to police, the accused would identify the closed houses and would use the minor boy to gain entry into the house to commit the crime.
Police has not ruled out other offences involving the duo. Investigations are in progress by PSI Harish Raut Dessai under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi and Panaji SDPO Serafin Dias.
