In a move to phase out buses from its existing aeging fleet and get environment friendly State-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) has floated a request for proposal (RFP) to lease 500 electric buses.
KTC has invited bids for selection of the bus lessor for both procurement and maintaining the 500 Electric buses it intends to lease.
Included in the requirement are sleeper coaches and luxury buses.
Charging infrastructure in the depot as well as at the bus stands also on a fixed lease rate basis per day, is stated as a requirement.
Meanwhile ne lot of 50 electric buses will be introduced next week in KTCL's fleet.
