Kudal youth dies in Bicholim accident
BICHOLIM: A 23-year-old youth from Kudal-Maharashtra died, while his friend who was riding pillion was seriously injured, after the motorcycle on which they were travelling rammed into a KTC bus at Gulanwada-Ladfe, Bicholim, on Friday.
According to Bicholim Police, Pankaj Ansulkar, was working for a company at Maulingem and was staying in a rented house at Chambharkond-Bicholim. He along with his friend Roshan Gawade (21) from Amboli-Maharashtra, who was also working for the same company, were proceeding to their native places on the motorcycle (GA-04-M-068) for Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
Police said when they reached near Gulanwada-Ladfe, Ansulkar lost control of the vehicle and rammed into an oncoming KTC bus (GA-03-X-0118). He was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The pillion rider also sustained grievous injuries and was undergoing medical treatment at the GMC.
Police said the body of Pankaj was sent to GMC Hospital for post-mortem.
Bicholim Police have registered an offence against the bus driver. The panchanama was conducted by HC Laxman Gawas. PSI Gaurish Parab is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.
