Kuncalienker: Kejriwal s figures on Mandovi bridge out of context

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has quoted figures of the Mandovi Bridge out of context , Panaji MLA and vice chairman of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) Siddharth Kuncalienker has said.Replying to Kejriwal, who said that “work on Goa s Mandovi Bridge began in June 2014 at an estimated cost of `470 crore.

 But today, the project estimates have gone up to `887 crore,” Kuncalienkar has said that these figures quoted by Kejriwal are absolutely out of context . “The estimated cost of the 3rd Mandovi Bridge which began in June 2014 was `355 crore. On 17 July 2014, the work order was issued to the contractors Larsen & Toubro at the negotiated amount of `403 crore. The amount spent till today is `144 crore out of `403 crore.The Goan, in a report had pointed out that the GSIDC will have to shell out `866.44 crore, almost double the figure of `470 crore quoted liberally so far by authorities, for the third bridge across River Mandovi if one has included the interest due to be paid.The loan repayment schedule spans across 12 years including a three-year moratorium on the principal amount. During this period, GSIDC will have to repay only the interest in 12 quarterly installments of `12.14 crore each.
