A youth was murdered on a fishing trawler and the body was later thrown into the sea.
According to sources, the incident came to light after a body was found floating in the sea.
"The incident may have happened sometime between January 8 and January 9 when a body was found floating in the sea and spotted by the Navy. The Navy handed over the body to the Harbour Coastal Police who registered a case of unnatural death in the incident,” said the source.
A case of murder was registered after the post mortem established that the deceased had been hit by a blunt object which led to his death.
The Coastal police began investigation and identified the deceased as 20-year-old Padmalochan Salima, a native of Odisha, who was working on a fishing trawler ‘Estela-II’.
