Land acquired near South dist court building may be used for town hall

MARGAO

The land acquired by the government near the South Goa District Court building at the Opinion Poll Square to set up a non-conventional energy park will now play host to a spacious town hall with capacity to accommodate 2000-3000 people.  If TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai is to be believed, the proposed town hall will be given a big push in the new calendar year to cater to the requirements of the people of Fatorda. Sardesai had in the past disclosed plans to build a velodrome on the acquired land, but has now planned to build a town hall at the place. He, however, pointed out that the question whether the proposed town hall will be built by the GSIDC or via PPP model will be decided in the near future. “Once completed, the town hall will meet all the requirements of the people of Fatorda. The hall will have a huge capacity with a provision to accommodate around 2000-3000 people,” he added.
