Law day observed at Ponda
PONDA: The Ponda Taluka Legal Services Committee (PTLSC) observed law day’ and national legal literacy day at Tisk-Usgao.
They will also organise a programme at Verem-Ponda to observe World HIV/AIDS and Disability Day on December 5.
Advocate Mita Chari speaking on the rights of women and protection of women from domestic violence informed about the sections under IPC, upon which victims can lodge complaint and get justice. Adv Suvarna Naik spoke on the entitlement and benefits of free legal aid. She informed how free legal aid service can be helpful for any person to approach the court to seek justice.
Ujwala Naik compered the programme while Adv Soniya Fatrekar proposed the vote of thanks. Kiran Gaude coordinated the programme.
Meanwhile, PTLSC will organise a programme at Verem-Ponda to observe ‘World HIV/AIDS’ and ‘Disability Day’ on December 5. Doctors from Betqui-Khandola Primary Health Center will speak on health care, while Adv Reena Gad Kerkar will speak on the rights of mentally challenged person.
