Leopard cub injured at Tuem
PERNEM: A leopard cub was injured after it was hit by a vehicle at Tuem on Thursday.
According to Pernem forest conservator Anil Kerkar, the incident took place on the slope near Tuem ITI at about 8 pm, when the leopard cub was crossing the road to proceed towards the forest.
“A speeding vehicle dashed the cub, due to which the cub sustained minor injuries,” he added.
“A local saw the injured leopard cub struggling on the road and contacted Pernem Police, who alerted us,” he informed.
“The injured leopard cub was sent to the Bondla zoo after medical treatment,” said Kerkar.
