With Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho and Cumbarjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar appear set to quit the Congress party to embrace the BJP, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Luizinho Faleiro has said that the members of the two blocks have made a fervent plea to the party leadership to nominate new faces for the two seats in the ensuing Assembly election.

During a chat with the media on Thursday, the GPCC chief said that members of the respective block committees had called on the leadership with a request to field new faces in both Dabolim and Cumbarjua Assembly constituencies in the coming election. “The party rank and file will gear up for the job in the event the two MLAs quit the Congress and join the BJP," Faleiro added.
