The leopard was seen moving around the porch of the house, near some parked vehicles and a toy jeep, before stealthily entering the verandah.
Once inside the verandah, the leopard attempted to prey on a house cat that was asleep. However, the cat slipped from its grip, and the leopard fled after hearing a dog barking nearby.
Interestingly, this is not the first time a leopard has been sighted in the area.
Residents have been careful not to venture out at night and do not allow their children to play outside after sunset.
According to sources, a number of residential units have come up in the Tourem-Moll area, which was previously covered by forests and served as a habitat for wild animals and birds.
A resident said leopards are frequently sighted roaming the area in search of prey after dusk and have even been spotted entering the backyards and kitchens of homes in an attempt to catch domestic animals such as dogs and cats.
