Calangute MLA Michael Lobo felt that the recent mandate to Congress in Karnataka will have no impact on 2024 Parliament elections, as people in the country looked at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “strong” leader who can take the country forward.
Lobo also said that certain wrong policy decisions of the previous BJP government in the State cost the BJP very dearly for doing so badly in the recent assembly elections in Karnataka.
“PM Narendra Modi’s popularity is very high as far as national elections are concerned. People look at Narendra Modi as the PM. They look at him to take the country forward, to strengthen the country and the economy. They want to see the country goes to the next level on par with America and certain European countries,” Lobo said.
He said a change of government takes place whenever policy decisions go wrong.
“BJP would not have got so many less seats there (Karnataka). Somewhere, their policy decision went wrong as far as the State government is concerned. It has nothing to do with the central government,” he maintained.
Lobo further said that the opposition parties coming together will have no impact against the BJP at the Centre as the work done by the central government can be seen in the entire country.
