The Goa Lokayukta has registered a complaint against the alleged illegal issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) for public land at Chalta No. 27, P.T. Sheet No. 190, Margao City.
The complaint, filed by Savio Coutinho, alleges corruption, maladministration and abuse of position under the Goa Lokayukta Act, 2011, besides an offence under Section 227 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for furnishing false
information.
Coutinho said the matter has been registered as Proceeding No. 08/2026 and notices have been issued to the respondents.
The preliminary enquiry is scheduled for August 5.
He alleged that the NOC was issued without a Council resolution or prior sanction required under the Goa Municipalities
Act.
