Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has strongly criticised the BJP government’s slow approach, blaming it for delays in repairing schools. He accused the government of damaging the foundations of democracy and now weakening the education system. He raised concerns about schools reopening even though repair works are still incomplete, and questioned the government’s priorities and preparedness.
“As the prime focus is on commissions, the incapacitated BJP government has ignored priorities in education. Last month, I raised the issue of pending school repairs, but the government failed to act swiftly, and today students and teachers are suffering. The BJP government has succeeded in damaging every brick of democracy and is now loosening the bricks of the education system. Shame on such a lethargic approach,” Alemao said.
He said he had asked for repairs to be completed before schools reopened. “Despite bringing this issue to the notice of the government and asking them to expedite the work, it has failed to provide a safe environment to students and teachers,” Alemao pointed out.
“With such poor management and crumbled infrastructure, can we successfully implement the National Education Policy?” he questioned.
