CANACONA
The persons had a lucky escape when their car went off the NH-66 highway at Maxem-Canacona on Saturday evening.
The three occupants, a driver and two middle-aged women, were later pulled out from the car by local residents.
The driver, Mahesh Sarang of Karwar, said he was proceeding from Margao to Karwar, when he swerved his car in an attempt to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
Some locals Sarvesh Satarkar, Rohit Satarkar and Nilesh Bhagat Prabhudessai noticed the car veering off the road and pulled out all three occupants from the vehicle.
A police team conducted the panchanama, before allowing the car to be towed from the site.
