Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro on Friday again reiterated his demand for a  judicial probe into the sewerage works in Navelim constituency to  ascertain whether the departments involved in laying the sewerage line  has carried out the work in a coordinated manner.

He further said  whether the sewerage works in Navelim constituency will be a success or  not is a million dollar question, pointing out that the work was carried  out by at least three agencies JICA, Sewerage Corporation and PWD,  Sewerage without any coordination. “People had seen last year how rain  water had entered the sewage chamber, later prompting the departments to  pump out the water. Just imagine a situation what would happen if  sewage comes out of the underground line,” he said.

The Navelim MLA  further raised questions whether the agencies laying the sewage line has  laid the lines after taking into account the level, fearing that the  sewage might return back to the houses of the people due to lapses.

He  was speaking to the media after launching the road hot-mixing works in  the Shantinagar areas of Aquem-Baixo village panchayat in Navelim constituency in the presence of Aquem Baixo Sarpanch, Siddesh Bhagat,  Navelim Congress Block President Conceissao Piexote and others.

He  said only a judicial probe will answer all the questions raised by the  people of Navelim on the sewerage works executed in the constituency.

To  a question, Faleiro pointed out that the road hot-mixing works has been  launched in Aquem-Baixo village panchayat area only after the sewerage  department wrote a letter informing about the completion of sewerage  works in the village. “Many households have also taken the sewerage  connection, but there are still many others who are yet to take the  connections,” he said.
