Mamlekar murder solved

Collem Police arrested a 44-year-old man from Dhavali-Ponda in connection with the murder of Bramhanand Mamlekar from Ponda.
After seven days of investigation, the police arrested Sidharth Miringkar late on Thursday night. He was produced before JMFC at Sanguem and was remanded to five days custody.
When contacted, Collem Police informed that Miringkar was nabbed on Thursday.
DySP Sunita Sawant told media persons that the motive for the murder was some business transactions.
“We solved this case with thorough and meticulous investigation,” Sawant said.
It may be recalled that Mamlekar was found murdered at Tambdi Surla on January 8. Collem Police had started its primary investigation and many persons were summoned to the police station for enquiry. Those who were in the contact list of Mamlekar were questioned in connection with the case.
Mamlekar was stabbed with a knife and his head was smashed with stones. The body was found 20 metres away from the main road on the bank of the river at Tambdi Surla. The deceased was missing from January 4, and a missing complaint was lodged at Ponda Police station on January 5.
