Man abducted from Kesarval

Verna police have registered an offence following the alleged abduction of a man from Kesarval, Cortalim, in the late hours of August 12. According to a complaint filed by Subhash Kumar Singh of Cortalim, his cousin, Vikash Kumar Singh, a native of West Bengal and residing at Kesarval, was allegedly abducted by unknown persons at around 11.45 pm on August 12.  

The incident reportedly took place at Kesarval, following which police launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances and identify those responsible. Police registered the offence under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to kidnapping or abduction.  

Further investigation is being conducted by ASI Sudhakar Jadhav of Verna Police Station under the supervision of Police Inspector Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.

MAPUSAThe Directorate of Panchayats (DoP) has directed the Calangute panchayat to de-seal four clubs, even as the panchayat plans to resume its drive against clubs and commercial establishments allegedly operating without valid permissions from the panchayat and other competent authorities.The panchayat had sealed eight clubs and commercial establishments last week before suspending the drive on Monday.
