Colva police arrested one Savio (19), a resident of Assolna, who is suspected to have allegedly trespassed into the compound of a starred hotel located in the coastal belt of Salcete.
According to Colva police, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday when the suspect allegedly trespassed into the compound of a Salcete-based starred hotel after climbing its compound wall. Once inside, police said the suspect made his way towards a room in this hotel but was immediately spotted by CCTV cameras. He was later apprehended by the security staff on duty and handed over to the Colva police.
Colva police informed that the man has been arrested and later claimed that they are trying to investigate as to whether the suspect had been involved in some other trespass cases reported earlier, particularly the theft of Rs 40,000 reported from the room of a starred hotel some time earlier.
Further investigations are in progress.
