Man held for cheating woman of Rs 3.3 lakh

Margao police have arrested a resident of Curchorem in a cheating case involving Rs 3.30 lakh.

The complaint was filed by Mamta Jai Singh Rajput, a resident of Pajifond-Margao, who said that between April 4 and 16, 2025, the accused, Sai Dalvi from Curchorem, contacted her through Instagram.

Dalvi allegedly tricked her into transferring Rs 3.30 lakh in multiple transactions to his bank account and those of five others, under the pretext of selling her a Honda Activa bike. Dalvi has been arrested and sent to police custody for five days.

Police have registered a case under Section 318(4) of the BNS 2023 and Section 66-D of the IT Act 2000.
